How did you get into Acting/Producing?
It all started many moons ago in the very early days of 2013 when Lauren Cooney approached me and asked if I’d like to make a film with her. The rest is history!
What has been the most challenging part of your career so far?
What isn’t challenging about this career?! It’s got to be filling the void, which is really what Pendulum is all about and any other projects – alongside acting classes too, a great way to fill the void Auditions don’t fly into the inbox every single week so the keeping my artist thriving and alive is the challenge and I’m grateful to have found filmmaking to be the filler of those void periods – I highly recommend it!
You recently released a short film called Pendulum – how was that experience?
It was a wild one! This was both mine and Lauren’s first film and we didn’t do it half hearted, we put all the wheels on that bad boy together and took it for a mad ride with a small crew to India. It was eye opening, challenging, rewarding, inspiring all of those things. I don’t think I’ve ever learned so much in such a short period of time. I could tell you all of the details but we’d need a good couple of pages for that or a podcast interview or something!
What was the most memorable moment during Pendulum?
The whole experience was extremely memorable to be honest, I have a TON of stories…if I was to pick a fun one I think it was the night of the bonfire display in Karuna Farm where we were filming the bulk of our film and staying. There was a huge celebration that night and to be around the locals of the farm and to film moments in character amongst these people just felt pretty amazing.
What led you to train at The Actors Temple?
I had just come out of a musical theatre career and decided to focus solidly on acting, mostly wanting to do film and TV. My friend Oli, who went to the same college as me, was doing the course and advised I do it with him. It was a great experience and gave me a solid base to work off.
What was the biggest lesson you learnt during your training?
LISTEN!
If you weren’t in the creative industry what alternate career would you have?
I’d like David Attenborough’s job! Or to be a part of his team – always loved nature, marine life etc it all fascinates me – definitely something in that sector.
What motivates you, when things get tough?
Working out, meditation, a road trip, a great film, a good book, talking to people with amazing mindsets and outlooks on life – all sorts!
If you could write a letter to your younger self, what would you say?
Just breathe and trust yourself, everyone is in the same boat.
What’s next?
Hollywood! I’m here now and excited to be a part of this Los Angeles – it’s an amazing hub full of creative energy – I have projects in development, auditions cropping up here and there and a bunch of new classes. I’m excited to get things going on this side of the pond.
