Ellie Zeegen – Co Founder, Producer, Actress

Ellie​ co­-found​ed​ The Actors Temple with Mark Wakeling and has creatively steered the company and ­produce every in-house production most notably The Three Sisters adapted by David Mamet (in which she played Olga), Postman’s Park (Co-Director with Dominic Kelly) and Hamlet (in which she played Ophelia).

In 2010 Ellie launched the CATS award-winning theatre company Firebrand in Scotland. As Co-Artistic Director to fellow Temple alumni Janet Coulson she has produced several highly acclaimed national tours including Iron by Rona Munro and The Effect by Lucy Prebble. As an actress Ellie played Kinnaber in Firebrand’s production of The Great Train Race by Robert Dawson Scott ​(****The Scotsman) ​and most recently the Prime Minister in Letter of Last Resort by David Greig.

Additionally, Ellie has over 20 years script development experience and forged the Page to Stage initiative with Janet in Scotland. She is currently heading up the Create project; a new writing initiative for the Temple led by Director Law Ballard and Ellie as Producer. As part of the Temple’s 15 Year Anniversary celebrations ​Awaken by Cheryl Prince and Scooter by Paula Connolly are both receiving match-funding from the Temple for R&D sessions leading to a rehearsed reading in a London theatre.
