Emma Laird Craig

After reading English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, Emma trained in the BA (Hons) Acting 3 Year programme at the Royal Central School of Speech & Drama. In her graduating year she found The Actors Temple and promptly trained intensively with Simon Furness, Tom Radcliffe, Gaby Santinelli and Gary Condes. She was accepted into LAByrinth Theatre Company’s Inaugural Ensemble Intensive in 2009 and co-founded a new writing theatre group The LabRats who premiered 5 new plays and won the New York Innovative Theatre Award for Best Premiere Production 2013.

Performance highlights include Kirsten in Strindberg’s Playing With Fire at The Box, NYC with the Private Theatre, Mrs. Sullen in The Beaux Stratagem in the TriForceSlam at Theatre Royal Stratford East, singing with Valentin Gerlier at The Troubadour and agitprop & burlesque in the Tittenbaum Troupe at the Chelsea Arts Club Berlin Ball. On screen, she’s enjoyed being in mockumentaries and working in independent film as well as playing “mum” or “woman” in commercials.

Teaching chops: Emma has been Artistic Associate and Rehearsal Director for Gerry Trentham, interdisciplinary theatre artist at Pounds per Square Inch & Canada’s National Voice Intensive. She also has extensive experience teaching young people personal impact at Interview and consulting as an actor on communication skills in difficult situations for the British Army, RAF, NHS and NYU Medical School. A fellow actor with experience and craft to share.
