DO IT!!! Just do it!

This week we spoke to Student in Training Maximilian Miller about training, inspiration and choosing to be an actor.
Describe yourself in 3 words?
Reliable, Honest, Funny
Why did you choose to become an actor?
There isn’t just one reason, why I became an actor. Being an actor and especially being on stage is just something magical. Telling a story, to captivate people, letting them feel what you feel, making them forget their own problems for a while and being truthful to your acting partner on stage so everyone is having a wonderful time.
Most challenging part of core training so far and why?
Letting go, not guarding yourself and being vulnerable.
Who inspires you?
Life itself. People around me. Every encounter I have.
What brought you to The Actors’ Temple?
A friend of mine suggested The Actor’s Temple to me after I moved to London. Then I visited a Rep Class just to watch. That was back in beginning of 2017. I then started the Foundation course in January 2018 and did Rep Classes in between until I started my Core Training in January 2019.
If you could play any character- who would it be and why?
If I could choose, I would go for characters like James Moriarty, The Riddler, or The Mad Hatter. The reason why, is because their background story, why they are the way they are, is always deep, multi layered and complex, that you have endless ways to play these characters. You could play those characters for years and finding new ways, new reasons, new impulses every single day.
What motivates you?
Becoming more truthful is motivating me.
Challenging myself is motivating me.
Improving myself is motivating me.
If you could write a letter to your younger self, what would you say? Not much. Probably just one advise or two that for some moments I don’t need to struggle as much as I did. But other than that, telling my younger self that he did a great job. Every single step my younger self needed to take was necessary to become the person I am today. And I am happy I am this person today. So I would thank my younger self many times, but reminding him to enjoy life, being a child and a teenager more than I did.
If you weren’t an actor, what alternate career would you have?
I can’t tell, as there was never a plan B in my entire life.
What advice would you give to someone thinking about training with The Actors’ Temple?
DO IT!!! Just do it. Give it a try and see what it does to you. So far, I haven’t met one person who did not get at least one thing for him/her self to improve in the work of an actor.
